Champagne-Ardenne is the province in the north of France between the regions Picardie and Lorraine. It consists of the departments of Ardennes, Marne, Aube and Haute-Marne. It is about a 5½ hours’ drive from the Dutch central city of Utrecht and is also very accessible by train. In addition to the vast vineyards and the ubiquitous champagne houses , the region also offers hundreds of kilometres of cycling and walking tracks. Also, an extensive network of canals and rivers allows for a great boating holiday. More interested in cities and art, Reims, Troyes, Langres and Charleville-Mezieres are some gems to explore. And for food lovers rest assured that the taste buds will enjoy themselves as well here – the region boasts 10 Michelin star restaurants.
Each year, approximately 145,000 Dutch visit the Champagne-Ardenne region. For further information click here.
